Tayloe and Scott surprised their friends and family by eloping in New Zealand in December. Thus, they wanted to throw a casual, festive reception upon their return to celebrate their commitment to each other. Their event was planned around a few key elements: a view of the peaks, live music, and a Mexican fiesta. I found a private residence that worked perfectly for the occasion. I brought in native Arizona flowers as well as ferns to represent New Zealand, placing them in vibrant hand-painted paper bags. The linens were apple green and sea blue, and we strung white Chinese lanterns. Romantic Victorian street lights lined the path to the tent. I also included a few surprises for the couple, such as a customized drink menu with their wedding invitation and photos from their ceremony in New Zealand. It was a celebration perfectly suited for this wonderful couple.
